The Napa Valley is home to many amazing nonprofits and people committed to improving the lives of our neighbors. We believe in the importance of supporting the communities where our employees live and work, by donating and volunteering our time. Since its launch in 2024, Lewis has funded $476,500 to 26 nonprofits through community grants. This year we will be committing $275,000 to local schools and nonprofits in Napa County.

The 2025 Lewis Community Grant program is complete. The 2026 Lewis Community Grant application period will open January 2026.

Eligibility

Successful applicants MUST

  • Demonstrate a commitment to making the rural communities of Napa County a more equitable place to live, work and play.

  • Be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity or local government agency, including Title 1 schools.

Geographic Focus

Lewis Community Grants will support nonprofits and schools who are serving Napa County.

Organizations based outside of this area may apply as long as proposed projects directly and exclusively benefit Napa County communities. For schools, only Title 1 schools within Napa County are eligible.

Grant Criteria

Lewis Cellars Community Grants will support organizations working across all program areas, but we especially encourage initiatives that support:

  • Health and Wellness
  • Recreation
  • Environmental Education
  • Art
  • Social Services
  • Youth Enrichment

Successful applicants will demonstrate community need and yield tangible and visible results. Funds are available for program development/expansion, innovation, small scale capital improvements, technology and equipment (please see FAQs for further details). We prefer to not fund general support through Community Grants.

Grant Amount

Lewis Cellars School and Community Grants will award a total of $275,000.

Grants can range from $1,000 to $25,000.
